Nurturing wellbeing, learning & inclusion at Lanjeth
Lanjeth Nursery – Growing People CIC was incorporated in March 2025 as the natural evolution of the community‑focused work we’ve pursued since first rescuing the site in 2022.
Creating a stand‑alone Community Interest Company lets us deliver social and educational projects free from commercial pressure, while still drawing on the unique setting—and volunteer passion—of the Water Gardens.
Why a CIC?
Our four values—Community, Accessibility, Sustainability and Tranquillity—run like a golden thread through every decision. By ring‑fencing all CIC income for reinvestment, we can:
- Offer programmes at little or no cost to participants
- Extend access to people with learning, sensory or mobility needs
- Protect the site’s ecology while sharing it with the wider community
What we do
| Current Provision | Who it’s for | Outcomes |
|---|---|---|
| Forest School – The Dragonfly Centre | Primarily young people | Confidence, outdoor skills, curiosity, teamwork |
| The Hideaway | Small groups of any age | Mindfulness, peer support, nature‑based therapy |
Coming soon: an accessible Hideaway with level surfaces and sensory planting, plus additional wellbeing & therapeutic gardens open to all.
Our Objectives
- Connect people of all ages and abilities with the natural world
- Promote social inclusion, wellbeing and personal development
- Deliver educational experiences that spark lifelong environmental stewardship
- Re‑invest 100 % of profits back into community benefit
Our team of qualified facilitators uses outdoor play, bush‑craft, ecology and creative arts to meet these goals.
