The Project
Lanjeth is a real gem tucked just south of St Austell in Cornwall. Designated as part of the Lanjeth Heath County Wildlife Site, its 15 acres (13.5 reported on some maps) include more than 130 inter‑linked lakes and ponds, wet woodland and pockets of ancient woodland— all threaded together by sun‑dappled paths.
Bought by the current owners in 2022, it took nearly two years of clearing over‑ and under‑growth to rediscover the lost lakes, ponds, paths and plants. The restoration is still under way today, with new corners of beauty revealed every season.

“As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.”
Pooh
While Lanjeth is now open to visitors, many conservation tasks are ongoing—and seeing the process unfold is part of the experience.

Your Visit, Your Support
Lanjeth Nursery is an open space for the community, with free entry.
Renovation and day‑to‑day care are costly, so we invite every guest to support the project:
Short on time? Drop £1 (or whatever you can spare) into the “Donations Churn.” Every penny goes straight back into restoring this wildlife haven.
Pop into the Potting Shed Café for freshly ground coffee, lunch or our legendary afternoon tea—our primary source of income for site upkeep.

A Sanctuary for People & Nature
As the site has evolved, we’ve opened dedicated areas for:
- The Dragonfly Centre – a Forest School space
- Tranquil therapeutic gardens
- Outdoor classrooms & wellbeing zones
Find out how these programmes foster wellbeing, education and social inclusion on the Lanjeth Nursery – Growing People CIC page.
Our work is guided by four core values:
- Community – welcoming everyone and nurturing shared experiences
- Accessibility – designing safe, inclusive routes and spaces for all abilities
- Sustainability – protecting fragile habitats for generations to come
- Tranquillity – offering a sanctuary where nature sets the pace
